Samples activities involving external stakeholders include any aspect of the samples process, including sample fulfilment, tele-sampling and e-sampling, conducted by or on behalf of AZ.

Samples may only be given for the following purposes:

• To enable patients, through their HCPs, to become familiar with an AZ product
• To enable HCPs to determine an appropriate patient’s response to an AZ product, in terms of tolerability and effectiveness, before the patient fills a prescription
• To enable HCPs or healthcare organisations (“HCOs”) to gain experience with an AZ product or to evaluate clinical responses to an AZ product more widely
