National Variation

The international reach of websites, emails etc means that it is possible to target audiences in many countries at the same time. However the regulations in those countries may be very different. This module covers principles that are generally applicable in most countries. However nominated signatories must ensure that country specific digital assets comply with all applicable national regulations.

For websites AstraZeneca uses Geo-targeting or requires users to specify their location, diverting those from some countries to other sites to ensure that web based communications are directed only at those for whom the information is appropriate.

Digital communications containing product or medical information must clearly and prominently identify the intended target audience (country, and audience e.g. health professionals or public). This is best achieved using a header on each page/screen of the channel.
