Requirements for statements made in Communications materials
Your role may require presentation of clinical data, information about diseases, product information etc through a number of channels including written, digital and verbal communications. In all of these types of activity there are some fundamental requirements relating to the statements that you make, which your signatory will need to check.
- Non promotional communications should not include content that might be perceived as promoting a medicine
- Information should be relevant to the target audience
- News should be ‘newsworthy’
We will cover these in more detail when considering ‘working with the media’ in this module. However let us now consider some ways in which non promotional items may be perceived as promotional.
